Flower Country

Filed under: a little beauty for your Friday.

These were taken outside the Buena Vista Winery, where Millie was a little pushy about joining their wine club, but otherwise the vintages were delicious and we bought a couple of Chardonnays and The Count.

I mentioned the Wisteria and Roses, but elsewhere in Flower Country we encountered all manner of gorgeous flora. The new header is cropped from this image at the Benziger Family Winery:

Here are a few more that I snapped throughout the weekend:

Tea Tree
Leptospermum Coparium
“Ruby Red”

I have more photos from our visits to the Benziger Family Winery and to Gundlach Bundschu Winery. Also currently working on “Language of the Vine,” which I will post next week.

In the meantime, if you’re in DC it’s the last weekend for these two shows (thanks to JPP for the reminder): Snapshot: Painters and Photography, Bonnard to Vuillard at the Phillips Collection (note for today only: the permanent collection is closed but the Snapshot exhibit is open free of charge); and Picasso’s Drawings at the National Gallery of Art.
