Fans, mourners, and general gawkers are no longer allowed to approach (much less have sex on top of, this tidbit according to my Paris guide book) Jim Morrison’s grave, so a nearby tree in le Cimetière du Père-Lachaise has become a guest register of sorts.

Trivia factoid: Morrison died adjacent to where we are staying, around the corner on rue Beautreillis.

Loving the travelogue, and the shots of JM’s grave. The fences hadn’t gone up the last time I was there, but then I guess that was almost 7 years ago.

It’s unfortunate. I don’t know how new it is, but the last time I was there (11 years ago) they had a guard posted at his grave. My guess is an ugly fence is a lot cheaper.
